This game reminded me the pop-up books I had when I was a child. Most clearly I remember the red riding hood. I kept it for a long time. So when I saw this adventure game which has a Japanese theme, I couldn’t resist and buy it.

You go on a serene journey through Japan of ancient fairy tales brought to life through striking visuals, unique gameplay, and haunting music. Experience dark forests, abandoned shrines, and tranquil mountain waterfalls as you seek to uncover the secret behind the lone dying cherry tree.

You can buy Tengami from IOS, Steam, Apple Store and Wii U. I bought it from Steam.

My Review:

It says there are language options.(Turkish and other languages) but I couldn’t find it on the menu. But I played in English because I play most of my games in English not Turkish.

I played for 1.5 hours and it looks like I finished %25 of the game.  I advise you to give breaks when playing, in the end, it has puzzles and you can enjoy it without playing it in a rush.

The song composer is David Wise. And if you like you can buy it from Itunes.

It has autosave. When you quit the game and restart it, you may continue from the place you left.

Because it has a different style I advise you to not to close the “hint” option. When you stuck in the game you can check the hints from the left top of the screen. You will see a question mark there when there is a hint.

You may think it’s an easy game. But it’s not. There are different combinations of puzzles. The paper can flip, fold, slide not once, maybe twice or three times.  So even with the hints, it may be hard to solve how to cross the bridge or how to climb a mountain through stairs.  Have I done it? Yeah of course. How did I do it? I have no clue. I guess with beginner’s luck and not giving up.

Well, I think this game is for people who like puzzles and Japanese culture.
